Brigham Young (pronounced /ˈbrɪɡəm/; June 1, 1801 – August 29, 1877) was an American leader in the Latter Day Saint movement and a settler of the Western United States. He was the President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1847 until his death in 1877, he founded Salt Lake City, and he served as the first governor of the Utah Territory, United States. Young also led the foundings of the precursors to the University of Utah and Brigham Young University.

Young had a variety of nicknames, among the most popular being "American Moses,"[2] (alternatively the "Modern Moses" or the "Mormon Moses")[3] because, like the biblical figure, Young led his followers, the Mormon pioneers, in an exodus through a desert, to what they saw as a promised land. Young was dubbed by his followers the "Lion of the Lord" for his bold personality, and was also commonly called "Brother Brigham" by Latter-day Saints. Young was a polygamist and was involved in controversies regarding black people and the Priesthood, the Utah War, and the Mountain Meadows massacre.

Vintage photographs are Brigham Young are very scarce these days . I have many requests for his photograph but they are just not found anymore these days , so please bid accordingly NOTE: We have had offers of $ 400 for this CDV that we turned down because we feel that this one is worth more , so please keep that in mind .This was probably taken in the 1870-80's . We are going to list this one as an auction for 10 days , so please make your bids early because if you dont , your chances to buy it are not very good , esp since so many people get distracted very easily and may forget to make a bid before the end of the auction

We also listed a very early stereo view of the Moon , by G K Nellis of Chicago , Im sure you all know how Rare vintage stereo views of the Moon really are ..or of anything related to astronomy ....We have a group of three vintage stereo views of the Moon that we are listing on Ebay this week ...Please check them all out and make your bids ...Once they are sold , they are gone . Also in over 25 years of dealing in vintage stereo views , this is the first time , I have ever seen any view of the Moon by this photographer !!!

We also just listed on another Ebay listing a vintage stereo view of Three Native Americans in the studio by William Chamberlain of Denver , Colorado . Im sure most of you all know how Rare these vintage Indian stereo views are !!!!!  This one and the other vintage American Indian views and other Western images that we are going to list on Ebay came out of a very important collection of Western American photography . Please check out our other auctions on Ebay !!!!!

Please keep in mind that we dont find these great images at the local garage sales . We buy them from other dealers , Auction houses , etc etc , Therefore if you really like to see great material like this one offered on Ebay , we need your support !! We also accept paper forms of payment too !!! We ship out within 7 days of the end of the auction or the buy it now , and shipping may also include insurance too .
