The Gang at Crane,Poole & Schmidt are back in full force through this exciting Season 3 Complete Series Set.Denny Crane (William Shatner) & Alan Shore (James Spader)in my opinion steal the stories each and every week.I cannot get enough of these 2 skirt chasing Lawyers whos antics at times get them in over their heads. The stars in this show are truely terrific with such stars as Delta Burke,Betty White,Michael J. Fox,Ed Begley Jr. and many, many others. The other Lawyers herein at Boston Legal include a smooth fast talking lawyer from New York named Jeffrey Coho all the way to a Cross Dressing Straight Shy Guy who likes to pretend he is Oprah.A few of the regulars are back in this truely amazing casting of talented actors and actresses are sure to make this show a truely memorable one through it's run on Television. David E.Kelly has written this with everything you could ever want in a Television Series from Drama,Comedy,Passion,Intimidation(One of my personal favs from Alan Shore)and an onslaught of other variables. There is even a bit of Horror in a round about sort of way.All in all in my opinion this show rates a 10 out of 10 and i simply cannot wait for Season 4 to hit DVD.I own the first 3 seasons and i cannot wait to get more. Now for the Yays & Nays........First the Yays...1st Rate Script,Extraordinary Actors/Actresses.Stories one can immerse themselves in.Leaves you wanting more and more. Now the Nays......Absolutely No Extras unless you count 1 or 2 5 minute behind the scenes featurettes which i would not call extras.I myself would love to see several Bloopers (We all know there has to be some Historic ones with this ensamble of stars.)Interviews whith each star speaking on Boston Legal. Not just one or 2 lines.Maybe some storyboards or 2.The Music of Boston Legal.Just give us more Special Features Fox.Why are you always keeping the goodies to yourselves?I myself love the special features of my DVDs.I refuse to buy many with none. also,Why are some of the great stars coming and going. Now i do not wish to give anything away if you have yet to experience BL 3 but I was disappointed on 2 actors leaving this show this season.(i won't give names, lol).Season 2 for the same reason.I think Fox could have let us fans know why these terrific people left this magnificant show.(Behind the Scenes Featurettes Fox,Hint Hint) Other than that.I do not see any other Nays offhand. My advice would be to grab it.It is worth every penny.Read full review
Boston Legal is my dream come true - Comedy / Crime /Legal Courtroom Drama which is a perfect combination of all genres and is as funny as it is clever and gripping. The idea of "Boston Legal" had came to its creator, David E. Kelley during the last season of once very popular but sadly quietly dying legal drama "Practice". I was a big fan of the show and I stayed with it to the end. Bringing to "Young, Berluti, & Frutt" of "Practice" an ethically-challenged, arrogant, morally ambiguous but brilliant and somehow likable attorney Alan Shore (James Spader) was Kelley's great idea. The last season of Practice became one of best thanks to Spader who resurrected it by simply being there. When I heard that Spader would have a spin-off "Boston Legal", I could hardly wait for it and it has never disappointed me. Boston Legal is "Crane, Poole, and Schmidt", a famous and wealthy firm that specializes on civil cases. In the center of the show are Alan Shore and his older friend and mentor Denny Crane (William Shattner). To bring them together in one show and let them have a wonderful relationship that is based on their differences (comparing to Denny who is in love with the sound of his own name, Alan seems highly moral and stable model citizen) and is at the same time hilarious, sincere, and moving was a pure genius. Each episode would end with both Alan and Denny sitting on the balcony, smoking cigars, drinking scotch and having a friendly conversation and those are the best moments of the show.Read full review
The TV show hits home every week and with this year the last season,I wanted its gutsy writing in my home. The cast of characters are lovable, truth bearing, and funny. While you laugh at the "Denny Crane" outbursts, you have to realize his fears of Alzheimers of Mad Cow. James Spader is perfectly cast as Allen Shore and his soap box closings are wonderful. One can turn it off until the closing part. Shirley ,Candace Bergin, is a great older love interest of everyone. Allen was not allowed to date or sleep with Shirley, and Denny & has a history. Its just one damn fine show. The networks must have been out of their minds to cancel this gem!
Couldn't wait to get season 3 of Boston Legal after watching season one and two. What a great alternative to the mindless TV shows that are now available. I prefer to watch some of the older shows on DVD. No commercials, pause for a snack, watch again anytime you may want to. Boston Legal one of the best weekly programs on TV back in the day while Denny Crane and Allen and the others lawyers of the Crane, Pool and Schmidt Law Firm take on suits relevant to issues of the day along with the comical personal lives. I also enjoy watching several episodes on one setting without having to wait for a week between episodes. Great acting and well written stories.
Boston Legal rocks!!! - Spader & Shatner are the Laurel & Hardy of the 21st century and then some. Always been a fan of GREAT DRAMA shows like THE PRACTICE, BOSTON PUBLIC and LA LAW (David E. Kelley producer and executive producer on the last one). I like to call this genre more than just DRAMA - it should be called CURRENT-DRAMA (since it takes on great current issues - whether it be politics, Hollywood or just day to day stuff......) The cast is JUST amazing........ Keep shocking us with great "current-drama" Love to watch the re-runs over and over. Overall, I cannot say enough about this series - all the seasons are GREATTTTTTTT .... Denny Crane YEAHHHHH BABY
