The Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth Wireless Speaker has great sound quality and amazing volume for such a small speaker. I use it with my smartphone to bluetooth sing-along hymns in a bible fellowship room that is 500-700 sq. ft. and the volume cannot be run on the full vol. setting (too loud). It would be nice if they would upgrade the volume control to where it could be preset to a volume number before the music starts. As it is you have to fine tune the volume after the first hymn starts. After that adjustment you can make adjustments with your smartphone volume. I really like this bluetooth speaker and highly recommend it.

After reading many reviews about what this "next generation" unit was supposedly able to produce in terms of sound quality, I have to admit that I am very disappointed. The sound is there, yes; but there is little life to that sound. There is no real vibrancy to what you hear; just music and lyrics. I can get those things from a live stream to my laptop. Other Bose products that I have been in the same room with (some of which are just as compact) produce sound that stirs you. This unit is good for background music enjoyment only. And yes, I tried "upping" the volume. No improvement. If what you want is motivation, looking elsewhere will probably yield better results.

Very happy with this Bluetooth speaker. Great volume & sound quality, clean design, simple interface and a substantial product. I could have selected the Bose SoundLink Color II but I preferred the look and feel of this first version more. I chose black because I wanted a speaker whose appearance was subtle -- blending in and STAYING clean-looking rather than having a fingerprint-magnet white, fire-engine red, ocean blue, or a 50's-style minty green hitting me in the face. I wanted to HEAR it...not necessarily SEE it. This particular model does not provide for speakerphone capability, and that's exactly how I wanted it. I bought this to serve the quality of my music -- not my phone calls. My smartphone is a speakerphone in its own right and I don't need my neighbors to be blessed with my conversations so this speaker fulfills my specific needs. If you require speakerphone capability through a portable device, this would not be the version for you to choose, but if you're a purist whose expectations revolve around the playback quality of your musical choices, you won't be at all disappointed.Read full review

This is really good portable speaker. The speaker seems to be very well built. You can turn it up pretty loud without getting vibration and without the speaker moving around. PROS- Very well made, seems to be very durable - pretty good base for a portable speaker. The high and lows are very good. - Bose quality CONS- This is the ONLY thing I found. These speakers are kinda tall. Place it where it won't get knocked over. But if it does, with Bose quality, it should handle it fine. SUMMARY- You can't go wrong with these Bose speakers. If you want great sound from a small portable speaker, this is it!! You won't regret!!

I have hundreds of songs downloaded on my iPad that I listen to while at work; however, the quality of the sound was not great. I had a Bose CD /radio that I had used for several years but I couldn't get the radio station I liked and got tired of listening to the same CD over and over or constantly getting up to change CDs. People that came in my office were amazed at the Bose sound quality. I knew that the sound would be great, so I purchased the Bose sound link for my office. The sound is great, I get to hear music that I love, and it sure makes the day go by faster. Great sound - great value!!!
