The Firestorm tools from Black & Decker have a very quality for a do-it-yourselfer. Though the endurance and features don't quite meet professional grade, they are durable and dependable. The ability to add additional equipment while using the same power source is an excellent feature. I have the impact driver, the hammer drill, the circular saw, the jigsaw, the reciprocating saw, the spiral saw, the power hand saw, the nail gun, the vaccuum, and the flashlight. The entire set makes repairs much easier. I worked in the construction industry for 27 years and began using the Firestorm tools when my Dewalt and Porter-Cable tools were styolen. I would recommend them to anyone.
First. fast shipping thank you... after my original firestorm drill broke for the 4th time(battery broke off)10 years old discontinued model. I decided to buy another. This is a great surprise!!. 1/2" hammer driil!! at a price less than the original. It has more power bigger chuck and it's a Bettery powered hammer drill to boot. I have use it on many projects so far, and it has not failed me. though not as powerful as a electric hammer drill it still performs well with a heft that rivels my electric drill. It still powered through 2" block with no problems. Just keep the bit sharp. I am very impressed this is the first tool that I reach for when needed. Battery life is still good even with a 9 year old pack. Thank you for a wonderful replacement to an old broken "friend". B/D you have done well!! Also to keep it within a price range that even I can afford. Way to go!! Dislikes: none that I can think of. You'll be impressed. At this price..Read full review
This drill is perfect for the home handy man. It has a great feel to it, it is powerful enough to handle 3 inch sheet rock screws, deck screws, or your smaller screws for lighter jobs. The torque is calibrated so that you have a very light setting to driving large screws taking heavier torque. It has a forward and reverse. It also handles up to a 1/2" drill bit. I also bought the 1.5 hour batteries, and a charger. We have built a fence for our yard, working on a back deck area, and building kitchen cabinets, a later project the fall. The drill is exactly what I needed. I have a smaller version by Black and Decker that my wife got for me two years ago in a kit. I love Black and Decker products. They sell a quality product at a reasonable price for just about any job you might have. I highly recommend this item for any handyman.Read full review
unit works fine and is in good shape. Seller stated one battery was included but would not charge. After testing it was revealed that the charger was not working, so I used a known good charger and the battery recovered. The driver is lightweight and has good power; now I have two of them and three batteries so any size job is not a problem.
I purchased this cordless hammer drill to add decorative trim on a brick fence around a swimming pool. It is a strong drill, and I was able to complete the job with one of the two batteries that were included (about 40 holes). Later in the month, I needed to drill through 8 inches of hardened concrete beneath my workshop into my cellar (to install a light and outlet). This little job did exhaust the first battery, but the job was quickly finished when I put the fresh battery into the drill. Everyone should have a hammer drill for these types of jobs.
