This is a beautiful bronze sculpture of a whale, in handblown green and blue glass. The piece is by renown artist Michael Storey, and is signed M. Storey. There is also a number on the tail fin that looks like a 22 or 77, not sure which. This is a gorgeous piece and measures about 6" tall and about 7" wide. I also have a tropical fish by Michael Storey in another auction so please check out my other items!

Shipping will be free, and I will ship to lower 48 US only. Good luck and happy bidding!

On Jun-11-12 at 22:38:10 PDT, seller added the following information:

I sent the artist an e-mail trying to find out any more information on these great sculptures, and he advised he made them around 97/98/99, and said he only made around 250 total bronze sculptures that also had glass. Here are the e-mails, only edited for what e-bay may not approve of. Thanks

I made these about 1997/98/99 when based in Eugene, Oregon.
I had staff working in the foundry doing the bronze work but I did all the glass personally. I had a friend with a glass tank set up so would spend a whole day making glass shapes about once a month.
I personally liked the glass pieces which replaced the malachite/azurite rock combinations I used to do when based in Arizona. I am guessing that about 250 pieces in total were used with the glass. All of them were unique pieces due to the different shape of the glass.
In approx. 2000 I came to England. Spent a few more years with bronzes and then 'retired' for a while. Back in the bronzes again now after a few years break and enjoying it.
Any particular questions just ask.

All my work at the moment are one off originals.

Thanks, Michael.

I have recently purchased three beautiful sculptures of bronze and blown green and blue art glass. They are of a tropical fish, a whale, and a dolphin. The pieces are about 8" tall, and they are signed M. Storey. I was wondering if these were earlier works of this artist? I have not had much luck looking on the internet, so I was wondering if someone could provide some information on these wonderful pieces. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
