Advantages of Canvas:  Environment friendly, Water resistant, Breathable - does not trap condensation of water - does not trap too much heat under the sun.  Long service life if properly maintained.  Can be retreated using chemicals or solutions such as Canvak. 

They fold nicely and weigh about 4 pounds, 4 oz (2 Kg).  Original manufacture specifications of 61" long and 22" diameter was before shrinkage.  Average actual measurements may be as low as 57" X 20" diameter.
