Good use with numbers, the puppets are cute of course and my son enjoys it. I think the use of the numbers and the teaching method is pretty good and I believe my son will learn some from it but, I do believe there are other videos out there that are just as good as teaching the numbers. The quality of the other videos does not compare to this one. Very well put together, good teaching content and toddlers love the puppets.
The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that: - for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%. - among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age." - brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. "Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is an option for occasional video viewing because communicating in sign language with your child is proven to: - reduce frustration and tantrums - accelerate language development - promote parent-child bonding Last thing for new moms - carrying newborn babies (in arms or next to body) an extra 3 hours a day resulted in 40% less crying. So carrying baby in a carrier or sling can help calm fussy babies!Read full review
Another excellent Baby Einstein product! My son is 18 months old, and we have just barely started working on counting. This video really seems to have helped him get the concept. In just a few days, he counts "one, two, fwee!" (OK, we still gotta work on pronunciation!) and could probably go higher, but at "fwee" he stops until everyone applauds. I love the gentle introduction to numbers, he loves the puppets, and the classical music score is more "daddy-friendly" than Barney or The Wiggles!
My son is 7 months old and he just loves this video. It's a video that even I can tolerate to listen to, over and over again. The characters have great personalities and even a 7 month old can understand the humour...after watching it a few times. This is so far, my favorite Baby Einstein video. It moves fast, the characters are funny, the orchestra music is upbeat and energetic. And it keeps my son entertained! Now that alone was money well spent!
This video is completely educational and a great exposure for a toddler to numbers. What's great is that the purpose is to expose and teach children numbers 1 to 5; this is perfect because you don't want to overwhelm your child with so many numbers (e.g., 1 to 10) when they're barely starting to get familiar with numbers. The images are colorful and the music is amazing! Moreover, this DVD language options allows my 19-month old toddler to learn to count in English...and Spanish! I would recommend this DVD to any parent.
