Here is a very rare hard-to-find turntable. This Ariston RD40 was purchased new, by me, about 6 years ago. It was new-in-the-box when I bought it and it will be shipped in the original packaging along with the set up instructions. The arm board is cut for a Rega 250 arm and this was a very good combination. The performance of the turntable and arm combination was very stable and even with a Velodyne HGS1800 coupled to a wood floor thru spikes did not upset it in any way.
This unit was manufactured in Scotland and was designed by the same folks responsible for the legendary Linn Sondek. It is not as good as the Sondek though and in reality was introduced by Ariston as a budget model. It is in good condition, having had minimal use over the past six years and I will accept the unit back if the new owner is not totally satisfied with the unit. (within 7 days of receipt)
I have recently upgraded to a Clearaudio unit, so the Ariston is now surplus to requirements. I will ship this unit internationally, but the shipping cost will be higher than stated for US shipments. I make no apology for the shipping cost, as I take no chances when it comes to shipping an item as delicate as this. It will be professionally double-boxed to ensure that the new owner receives it in perfect condition.
