Depend upon your usage
As mac os x user, you won't be able to upgrade higher than os 10.6.8, so new software/game/apps/new security patches, won't run on it. Old software/games, run very slow/ lager. Screen resolution not sharp in the text field. It better for other os like linux/windows, but still its old hardware noticeable. It have option for upgrading the ram and support SSD, so that could change the lags & slowness. As a basic computer for surfing the Internet and for using office apps, it is actually a Good deal, as you can found those one pretty cheap and in somehow good condition.

Black Macbook....
A big thanks to Chuck for helping with this purchase. I love this system and had questions about 1. buying a used laptop and 2. how to buy accessories and keep it in good shape for years of use. Using Mac for first time.
My son and I decided we wanted to try a used mac before investing in a new one. We bought two of these and have been having a great time learning our way around in them. We are very pleased with the quality of the macs and the efficiency of the programs. I am considering downloading some software to try. We are happy campers with no complaints here.

Upgrades
I upped the memory to 4GB and installed a 500GB Hard Drive then reinstall the OSX 10..7.5 Lion operating system, unit is running nicely, though it may need a new battery in the not too distant future.....works well....am re learning the operating system, been many years since I used Apple products....actually pre GUI days....

Exceptional buy
This is an exceptional buy. It is only running 9-6-8, but it works well and can be up graded to 9-7-5. Be careful though, if upgraded to higher iOS, you will loose the office suite that is loaded on it. I found this out the hard way.
