Item specifics

Seller Notes: 112 years old! Some age spots "read description"
Color:

Silver

Material: Tin metal

This Auction if for a Beautiful Collection of Antique Tin Ceiling Tiles that are very Rare due to the Custom Victorian Design with matching Borders.

They have just been removed from a building that was completed in 1901. The Amish men that removed them took a lot of care when taking each tile down. There are several patterns with this lot that were created to compliment the finished product. I took pictures of the ceiling before the removal so you can have a vision of what it will look like installed.

Pictures and amounts:

90 tiles:  Picture #1, Main Scroll Pattern Tile 2' x 4' , pattern repeat 8x's per tile

31 tiles:   Picture #2, Main Scroll Pattern with Finish Border design Tile 2'x4' pattern repeat 4x's of main design and 4x's of border design

32 tiles:   Picture #2 & #3  Tiles begin to create the border effect with embossed molding and design 4'x1' pattern repeat 4x's per tile, each edge has different molding designs

32 tiles: Picture #3 These tiles only show 6" of the pattern which are small floral style designs. They are larger then shown and tucked under the other tiles to add the border effect. (fill in tile)

30 tiles:   Pictures #4 & #7 Cove molding border tiles, 17" x 4' pattern repeat 2x's per tile. Athens Wreath with Ribbons and Fruit. 45 degree angle corners. Each tile has 3 curved wood supports under to create the curved border effect. Due to the wood being over 100 years old, we were only able to save 20 peices (included). They can be used as a pattern to cut new ones prior to installation.

4 tiles: Pictures #5 & #6 These are the beautiful 4 corner tiles that bring the whole design together .2'x2'

2 tiles: Pictures #8 & #11 Corner Ladies head peices. There were only 2 because of the design of this building. See pictures

Various other tiles: There are 5 molding strips, 7 main tiles damaged, 1 peice of the damaged tile can fix the other 6 by cutting the pattern out to patch it.

All tiles were attached with nails. There is flaking paint, pitting from rust and rusty overlapped edges. Each tile is 1/2" larger then 2'x4' to allow for the overlap edges. I will add that there will be prep work need to repurpose these tiles for your ceilings. They are 112 years old and are in good condition for the age. I would recommend looking for the videos offered on eBay for how to install antique ceiling tiles and also consult a professional for installation.

EBay does require me to list any damage when selling "used" items. My details would be, rust, some holes, slightly bent pieces here and there, nails holes must be flattened out again, flaking paint, chippy paint, rust pitting, dust and dirt. The proper way to reuse antique tiles is to sand blast or power wash all flaking paint, prime, install, paint. These tiles will never be made again and are well worth the effort to let them be displayed again as an ART of days gone past. They are sold "as is, where is".

SHIPPING:  I am listing this large lot as "Pick Up Only" If you want a freight shipping rate, I can supply the size and weight by request. (see end of listing for weight & size)It will be up to you to locate a shipping company and make the arrangments and payment. The tiles are located 1 1/2 hours SE of Kansas City, Missouri. I can also arrange taking the lot to Kansas City which is most likely where the freight Company will be located for pick up and can save you money on your shipping.
