I bought this at an estate sale
As Is, Electric 500 series National Cash Register
It is made of solid brass, and has a wood base. The brass is finished to look like wood as well from the factory, probably from a general or old hardware store.
EL 4C was Built between 1908 and 1916 - According to the serial number this is a 1916 model, from my research.
Read more about it google this stuff.
I have been collecting for a long time and seen lots of National Registers.
Never have I seen one exactly like this.
I plugged it in and moved some things and it started spinning and making noise, but I am unsure how to use it and don't want to break anything, so I turned it off.
Comes with all 4 drawers and misc, pieces and hardware. - One of the drawers is missing the front piece.
Also, includes back piece - see pictures, that is the slab of wood with brass counter thing on it.
Cool to restore, decorate or add to your man cave!
In Chicago, I will not arrange shipment of this item. You need to pick up up locally, or arrange pickup, packing and shipping (crate and freight).
It is very very heavy, easily a few hundred pounds, as it is solid brass and will take 2-3 strong people to carry it.
