Here for purchase is an antique J&E Stevens Key Lock Safe No. 50 cast iron penny bank. This item was patented on August 24, 1897. The bank was made in Cromwell, Connecticutt. The bank measures approximately 4 1/8 inches tall x 3 1/8 inches long by 2 5/8 inches wide. This bank does come with the key. The key is attached to a wire that is connected to the bank. This is not standard with the bank, but the purpose is to ensure that the key does not get lost. The bank does lock. The key will open the bank, but be careful with it as this item is old. The bank is entirely brown in color at this point. There is some minor surface rust on the inside of the bank. I have taken pictures of the bank of any rust spots, so please look at the pictures. This bank would make a nice addition to any collection. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Terms and Conditions:
Shipping is free on this item, but the seller chooses the method of shipping. If buyer wants expedited shipping, then buyer should contact me prior to purchase. Buyer will be responsible for the difference in cost between the shipping methods. Do not buy first, then request expedited shipping because I may not be able to accommodate your request when it is made. I want to accommodate reasonable requests, but I ship from my home. It is rare that I can actually get to the post office during the week.
It is imperative that you read the item description prior to bidding. In the event that you have any questions regarding this auction, please contact me prior to bidding. I usually respond within 24 hours of receiving a message, but I cannot guarantee that I can always do so. I attempt to describe every item as accurately as possible, but I am not an expert. When I state the condition of an item, I also will describe significant flaws. Most items that I sell are used. I try to be thorough with descriptions, however, potential buyers should note that most items for sale are vintage and more than likely have been well loved for many years. This results in normal wear and tear and creates the character that we all love in vintage items. Normal signs of use may not always be specified in the condition report, but should be expected in items that are vintage.
Payment is due within 3 days of auction end. If you do not pay within three days, then I will contact you once to request payment. If you do not pay within 48 hours of this message, then I will open a case with eBay. I believe that good communication is crucial to resolving any issues between buyer and seller. Thus, I will always try to communicate at least once when a problem arises and I hope that any buyers will do the same.
Items that I sell are “as is”. I only accept returns in the event that there is a significant discrepancy between the auction description and item. I want all buyers to have a good experience purchasing items from me. If there are any questions following the auction end or upon item receipt, please feel free to contact me. In the event that a return is agreed upon by buyer/seller, buyer is responsible for the return shipping. I expect that the item will be returned with the same packing materials and box in which it was sent. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE FEW BIDDERS THAT MAKE BOGUS CLAIMS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A PARTIAL REFUND WHILE RETAINING THE ITEM, DO NOT BOTHER BUYING THIS ITEM. I do not give partial refunds under any circumstance. If any refund is warranted, it requires a return of the item to seller. Please be advised that upon return, the package will be opened while being video recorded. To honest buyers: I apologize that you had to read that. However, if you are confused or curious about this section, please feel free to read the eBay seller discussion boards where a small number of dishonest buyers use this tactic against sellers.
Please be advised that your bid on this listing is a legally binding contract. This contract shall be interpreted according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The appropriate jurisdiction to resolve any legal claims or disputes shall be Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Buyers in PA will be required to pay 6% sales tax.
I do not accept bids from other than the continental United States. If a buyer from outside the continental United States is interested in this product, please feel free to message me. I may be willing to modify the listing to allow for purchase with the additional shipping cost, if any, to be paid by buyer.
