Antique Heubach Koppelsdorf Bisque Doll
Description:
This pretty cabinet sized Heubach Koppelsdorf child is in such a beautiful costume- just look at those ruffles! Someone's got a party to go to! Circa early 1920s, this is a nice example, with a really pristine Kidolene body.
15" tall, she is perfectly
proportioned, and her head, in this small size, is quite finely and delicately
modeled. She is marked
on the back of her shoulderhead "Heubach Koppelsdorf 275.9/0"; there is probably more underneath the kidolene body.
She really has a lovely and very well
painted head i,on a deep shoulderplate, with her original working threaded deep blue glass sleep eyes; these are particularly well matched. She has a delicately painted pink open mouth
with porcelain teeth, and a wee dimple in her chin;
of note are her well rounded cheeks with their painted pink blush; dust and dirt to crevices. She has a small 1/8" diameter factory-done circle of white near one ear where the pink paint 'bubbled' during firing; this is smooth and is not seen when the wig is on. She has both upper and lower lashes painted- these are very long for such a small doll- and fashionably thin singlestroke brown eyebrows, and faint red eye and nostril dots. No chips or cracks to head.
Her wig is a replacement, but a nice one, with long blonde curls, and it suits her well. Her original kidolene and bisque hand body is in quite good condition, with little signs of wear; some small repairs to knees done long ago. Her pink bisque hands are quite nicely done, and have no chips or cracks.
She wears a sweet 1950s era costume of pink dotted swiss with beautiful inset lace, and a matched set of white cotton pantaloons and petticoat. Her black patent leather shoes and white socks are older, probably c1940s or so.
All in all, a really pretty child- from way back when German dollmaking was at its pinnacle!
Please check our other auctions, as we have a small but select group of other vintage items and antique dolls up for auction this week!
Happy Bidding with Marionettejilly!!
A Word About Vintage Items:
Marionettejilly
endeavors to be accurate with our descriptions- but we aren’t perfect, and we
may have missed something that’s important to you-- so ask before an auction
ends! We sell mostly vintage and antique items, with wear and the ravages of
time as to be expected. Do not expect such vintage items to be in new or like
new condition- many of our items are fragile, played with, and many are over
100 years old. Use your own good common sense, and expect an item to have a
unique patina and history all its own- with imperfections inherent in antique
pieces!
Our shipping represents not only postage
but also time, gas, packing materials, and, as of July 2011, the 7.5%
Final Value Fee that Ebay charges to shipping.
Due to these increases, we are no longer able to do exact postage
shipping, and we do not barter about shipping once an item has ended; domestic
shipping is clearly stated within the auction listing. Most items will be
shipped within three business days of payment, and all packages are
hand-delivered by us to the Post Office.
Refund Policy:
If you
are unhappy with any item, it may of course be returned for a full refund of
purchase price within ten days of original shipping date. We do not pay return shipping.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO
NOT OFFER PARTIAL REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON.
There are no exceptions
to this policy, and we will report unscrupulous buyers.
New
Shipping Information: Starting
in July 2011, Ebay charges 7.5% Final Value Fees to both the final auction price
AND shipping; please accept our apologies for the higher shipping, particularly
to our international customers. We ship most items anywhere in the world.
Yes, we will combine shipping on
multiple wins. Combined auctions, no matter how
small, are a minimum of an additional $1.00 per added auction, for up to six
items; in the case of larger items, such as dolls, shipping will be adjusted
according to weight of the total package.
Payment
Terms: Payment is due within 7 days of end of auction; ten
days after an auction ends, we automatically inform Ebay of all nonpaying
bidders. We do not have layaway.
One Last Final Thing: We are not a big ol'
corporation. We are actually pretty nice folks, with an interest in antiques,
fighting upstream against inflation and the economy just like everyone else. So
if you have a problem with an item we've sent, just sit back, take a deep
breath, and tell us about it calmly. We have not set out to scam you. Chill.
All the above rules are just because a couple of folks in the past decided to
be meanies. We know you're not like that- we certainly aren't.
