For your consideration…. Antique country kitchen teakettle with a lot of old-time charm. It has an attached lid that swivels out of the way and is also grooved to fit securely over the pot opening. It is grooved on the bottom to fit securely into an old wood-burning stove. These kettles were also used on the open range over an open fire. Measurements are approximately – 11" tall with handle, 12” long spout to end, 6 ¾” from bottom to lid, 5 ½” diameter opening, 9 ¾” diameter at widest point. This piece is heavy,
Condition – I am no pro and cannot grade this item, with that said I found; surface rust and soot, handle moves freely – use the zoom function on the pictures for a close-up look. I have not tried to clean, polish or alter this piece from how I found it (truly in all-original condition) – except to dust it. I love collecting antiques and I personally like them to appear their age – if I wanted something new I would buy a nice clean replica. I leave these items as-is (except for light dusting) so its new owner can decide what they want to do with it. Makers Mark – none I could find, but obviously quality made I am not an expert and do not know the age of this wonderful piece. I would guess that, by research I’ve done on eBay together and talking with the antique dealer here in town, this piece was made sometime from 1900-1920. Please let my pictures & your own judgment guide you.
