Description: This is a beautiful platform rocker from the late 1800’s. This rocker is made of dark oak that has heavy ring turnings and barley twist designs. The crest rail, stiles, arms and stretchers are all carved. The end of each arm rest has a small brass cap and there are exposed brass nail heads all around the thick back rest cushion. The upholstery is in excellent condition; it is emerald green and has a nice leaf pattern on it. There are metal coil style springs that attach the rockers to the platforms. It appears that the right front foot of the platform may have been repaired at some point. There are casters on the front feet. This is a solid, sturdy piece of furniture and it is in excellent condition for its age. It is antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. Measurements are 44 ½ inches tall, 24 inches side to side and 25 ¾ inches front to back. It weighs 25 pounds.
