For sale is a most rare and beautiful lens, the Angenieux Paris 1" or 25mm f1.4 C mount .
This small beautiful lens has impeccable glass (a couple of unavoidable microscopic dust spots inside). It shows some minor signs of use, the craftsmanship is superb and everything is so smooth that it just goes to your soul! It's a wonder, it almost fully covers Micro 4/3 and the colors and definition are fantastic (it is such a small lens), a master of bokeh also, take a look at the samples. The aperture ring clicks well into position but you have to turn it firmly, as it is a little stiff. Focusing works well and is very precise. Pierre Angenieux fonded his optical company in 1935 but it did not take long for it to become one of the most successful on the market. Known for for its famous optical models (the Retrofocus, Cinezoom lenses, etc) almost every producer on the market embraced their technique. From the 70s the company focused on designing and producing professional lenses for Cinematography, Military and Space Programs. The optical model of this little lens is far superior to the other C mount lenses on the market and it is most visible in the images taken with it. The quality is insured from border to border, just stunning for such a small lens. In my opinion this is the best possible standard lenses for mirror-less cameras as it has the minimum of optical flaws. Now, the marvelous digital age offers us the possibility to use it as a standard lens on Olympus/Panasonic Micro 4/3, Sony Nex, Nikon J1,V1 mounts with a simple metal adapter widely available on eBay. (the adapter is not included in this auction). In the first picture you may see it mounted with the aid of an adapter (not included in the auction, but highly available on e-Bay) on Olympus E-PL1 (not included in the auction). On bodies like Nikon J1/V1 it will fully cover the format, I believe that it will be most interesting to use. In parallel auctions I have listed some other C mount lenses in a similar fabulous condition, you may take a look! Also the little sister of this lens, the wide angle Angenieux 12.5mm f2.2 is available on a parallel auction, don't miss it! Please take a good look at the 11 pictures and feel free to ask any questions, I'm here to help you. Please note that old lenses do not require glass cleaning unless there is something really wrong with the image results. Extensive cleaning of the glass surfaces will damage the lens surface and you will most likely regret it. Be careful about this, it's good advice! :) Also, please note that vintage lenses may present small traces of fungus or dust, that will not affect image quality unless stated so in the description. Please understand that you are buying an old lens!!! Returns are, of course, accepted, but please do not abuse of this, read the description thoroughly and ask any questions. Partial refunds are not accepted. Please remember that even if the lens is a wonderful condition, it is still more than 60 years old, do not expect it to be brand new. Please note that only the lens is included in the auction, I have no caps for it. After the auction ends please make the payment as soon as possible, this way I can ship straight away. Please be so kind to make the payment within 5 working days since the auction ends. I can also offer more expensive and faster shipping services (DHL, TNT), please let me know if you are interested. Happy bidding and good luck! PS: Please take a look at my other photo items! |
