Starting bid price: US $.50 an issue Title
and Issue(s): Alpha Flight 14-16 Author/Artists:
Byrne, Yanchus et al Date(s):
September-November 1984 Publishing
Company: Marvel Comics Cover
Price: .60 Guide
Price at Comicbookrealm.com: 9.00 total Story
details/ arc/ highlights of book: Marina becomes the focus as people are
missing around the Lakes, and she’s been away too long, with Namor, who guests
in these issues… Notes
of interest with regard to condition: great shape Other
than these notes, the books appear in fine shape, lay flat, have firm staple
hold, complete covers and interiors. Read
this BEFORE you bid… Do not
assume the E-bay postal calculator is right, and no not proceed to paying
before we have discussed finalized postage costs! Now
as to that pesky topic of shipping!
Comic books are relatively large and bulky in terms of moving things
from one place to the other, especially as it pertains to crossing
borders. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PAY TO
SHIP THE ITEM, DON’T BID ON IT. MY JOB
IS TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A GOOD PRODUCT AT A REASONABLE PRICE, NOT TO EAT THE
COST OF SHIPPING THE ITEM FROM ME TO YOU! Now
having said that, I will be reasonable. I
want you to have an experience that makes you want to come back to me for more
bidding! It is in my best interest that
you feel you made out well in the exchange.
If you want to know the real cost of sending an item from here to
wherever you are, go to www.canadapost.ca
and give it the information it wants.
The package, if it is a single book is likely going to be 12 inches
long, 9 wide, and about ¼ of an inch high.
If you are on metric that is something like 30 cm by 23 cm by .5
cm. The trick is the weight, but for
most orders all you would need to tell the site is less than 500 grams. The options are all there to see, insurance,
air/surface, whatever option you want.
Please add two dollars to whatever total you get from the site for my
packing supplies and such. Yes, I am
absolutely willing to combine shipping, but remember if we get into shipping
boxes and the like, those too are your responsibility, not mine. Shipping
ain’t cheap! If we are talking about only one or two books, generally I can
ship that package WITH NO INSURANCE to other parts of Canada for $7.99, to the
continental United States for $9.99, and international surface (meaning it goes
by ship, not by plane) for $11.99. If
you want it faster it costs more. If you
want insurance there may be more cost. Be honest with yourself, when you add the cost (which I set as
minimum bid fairly low), and then you add shipping, is it still cheaper than
you would get it in a shop? I suspect
the answer is yes… many of my buyers are getting the items they buy, especially
if they purchase more than one auction, for less. Keep this in mind when deciding if I am
“worth it”. BOXED ORDERS: IF you order
a lot of stuff, and by that I would say more than 8 books you are probably
going to want a box, the smallest of which will fit close to 30 books and costs
me $4 to buy. With this item though,
comes the weight…30 books will weigh in, with bags and boards, at close to five
pounds! Just for fun, on this package
that means : International $45.74
United States $ 33.68 Canada $ 17.11 FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS: 1)
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER? Canada Post estimates are available. Delivery
depends on your location, package size and weight, and the service method
chosen. Contact me for details. 2)
WHY IS SHIPPING SO EXPENSIVE? The cost in checkout is based on the most economical Canadian postal
service method. It is for this one item only and the estimated size and weight of the
wrapped package. Cost includes postage or shipping fee, fuel surcharge, local taxes,
packing materials, wrapping and delivery to Post Office. FOR BEST SHIPPING VALUE, BID ON MORE THAN ONE AUCTION, AS THERE ARE SHIIPPING
DISCOUNTS IF YOU WIN MORE THAN ONE COMIC AT THE SAME TIME! 3)
HOW CAN I SAVE ON SHIPPING COSTS? See my other items! Shipping multiple items at the same time will
greatly reduce shipping costs per item! 4) CAN THE ITEM BE DECLARED A GIFT? Sorry, no. I usually use PayPal/Canada Post to
create a shipping/customs label, which includes description and value. Any
duties, brokerage fees, local taxes or other fees must be paid by the Buyer.
Please check your local regulations to avoid nasty surprises. 5)
CAN I PICK IT UP? Normally, no. The complications in coordinating
local pick-ups are not worth the modest savings in shipping small items. GUARANTEE, RETURNS AND REFUNDS: Items shipped are guaranteed to be authentic,
original and working as described, and the same item as shown in listing photo. Return and refund request will be accepted no
questions asked, subject to these terms. Buyer must contact Seller BEFORE making a Return
and receive a confirmation. Returns must be shipped within maximum five
calendar days after confirmation by the Seller. Refund is for the item selling price only. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs for both
original shipment and return. Seller is not responsible for loss of uninsured
Return shipments. All Return shipping costs, including insurance,
customs duties etc. must be completely prepaid; shipments sent collect or with
any costs outstanding will be refused. Return must be securely wrapped in original or
similar packing materials. Refunds will have any postage or other fees
deducted. FEEDBACK: Don’t forget to post positive
eBay feedback once you have received the item and are satisfied. I will gladly post positive
feedback for the Buyer after completion of the transaction. If you are not satisfied
with the transaction for any reason, please do NOT leave neutral or negative
feedback: contact me immediately and I will do everything possible to provide a
satisfactory solution! Be sure to add me to your favorites
list ! SOME FINAL TIPS: (thanks to“eBay
FOR DUMMIES”) 1)
DON'T GET "SNIPED": Some bidders
are surprised when they are suddenly outbid in the last minutes of an auction.
This is called "sniping". Remember it is not the last bid that wins
but the highest bid. By bidding the highest price that you would be willing to
pay for an item, you do not automatically have to pay that price! Your bid will
only be raised (by eBay, not me) according to eBay's rules, up to your maximum
bid and no more. Check with eBay for more details on bidding rules. Entering
your maximum amount early is the best way to avoid sniping that happens during
the last minutes of auction. 2) BIDDING: Don’t round off your bids to the nearest familiar numbers, such as $3.00
or $21.50: instead, use “odd” values in your bid to increase your chances of
winning! Bidding $3.07 or $21.53 could mean the difference in winning the item
for only a few pennies more than the next highest bidder. THANKS FOR
LOOKING! Bid Early, BID
OFTEN! GOOD
LUCK and HAPPY BIDDING! Check
