I am not a Pro Player, but have played for 20 plus years. Have played in bands, live on stage. I'm not saying that for any other reason than to maybe share a little experience with some of the newer players. I have had many kinds of amps, guitars, and effects pedals through the years. If you know a particular sound that you are after ..... find out what that particular band uses. If not, then you can't go wrong with a Zoom 505! This pedal has the most popular effects on board that have been used for the last 3 decades .. and some have been in use even longer than that! Couple that with the fact that with a set of Head Phones you have one of the best practice tools available. It's settings are simple, effective, and you can practice in private so you can just get as crazy and expressive as you like without bothering anyone else .. With all of this in a package that you can get for less than the price of a good steak ... it's a no brainer. The 505 is proven .. and stage worthy on top of that! You can't go wrong ... get one if you can ... but, I have to warn you ... you just might be bidding against me because I still want to get a couple more in reserve .. and at least one to give to my 1 year old Grandson!Read full review
If you're looking for a lot of great effects for a modest amount of money, this is it. Many of the factory presets sound so good you won't want to change them. If you do they can be changed but not as easily as some of the higher dollar ones now that have knobs for adjusting the effects. The main downside to this product is that it has a cheap plastic case; however, that's probably how they could put good electronics in it for a value price. I sure like mine.

This pedal has allowed to have one pedal for compression, chorus, flanger, and doubler w/o having to buy 4 pedals. And those are only the tip of the iceberg w/ delay, distortion, and other features built in all running on 9 volts of power, it helps me keep a small but highly versatile pedalboard for the small spaces I have to play in as a church musician.

If you're looking for a great guitar processor for the buck this is it! I wore my first one out so I was very fortunate to find another on ebay. Easy to program, great set sounds or custom build your own sounds as I do! You can also find the operator manuel online. I recommend the Zoom 505.

One of the earliest multi effects units. Getting a little scarce now. It has all the essentials, very easy to program and use, very reliable and light, makes it great for stage work. I went back to one of these after having several newer ones that were too heavy, too complicated and hard to manage on stage.
