I bought this for my wife who was complaining about her 19" monitor being to small and decided it was time to give her an upgrade. I was surprised by how easy it was to assemble, how nice it looked and especially this picture once I turned it on. What a difference from the 5 year old flat panel she had. She was floored at the size and brilliant view this gave her and loves that it is widescreen which allows her to view more without having to slide over. The glossy screen doesn't bother her at all as it's easy to get rid of anything in the room that would cause glare. I do not recommend this if you have a lot of light that might cause glare, if you do I recommend a matte screen. We don't use the on-board speakers so I can't speak to how those are since she has a 7.1 surround speaker system for the PC. My wife thinks I am a hero and all for less than $100. Big 2 thumbs up to Acer for understanding that even those who don't want to spend a fortune would still like to have a quality viewing experience. By the way the inputs options are great too as I was very tired of using adapters to get her monitor hooked up to the PC. I pray to the HDMI gods.Read full review

I purchased this monitor because I was using my HD television for a monitor and sometimes I like to watch television while I am working at my desk. I have three Acer computers so buying an Acer monitor was a no brainer to me as I feel that Acer products are excellent and my computer are connected to monitors using HDMI which provides a really clear picture. This monitor is the perfect size for my desk and the HD screen allows me to get an excellent view whether I am viewing a photo or a HD video. Refurbished doesn't mean that the monitor has been used, it indicates that the monitor was updated with the newest software. This monitor is excellent and if you demand or love HD, I highly recommend this monitor.

I love these screens, only downlfall is that it auto searches the input. I bought three to use as a 3 screen set up and I use a splitter (hdmi to display port cable) and it constantly turns the screen black when I switch programs (my games :p) as it AUTO SEARCHES for the type of input. The screen basically doesnt understand that Im using a spiltter so it searches for the lost signal or something... idk, anyway... you cant turn this function off. So, dont use a splitter with this if you are using a two or more screen set-up. Other than that, great buy!

Nice screen and size. Picture is great however inputs on rear of screen are horizontal facing towards back of screen. Odd design since installing cables ie: power, HDMI, etc requires you to apply pressure against the screen to install. Had to use a shirt in off hand to secure cables and not damage/smudge screen in process. Not worth losing a star but hopefully a revision fixes this. Never had a display where you had to apply counter pressure on the screen to secure the cables. Just odd.

The display quality of the H236HL 23" video monitor seems to be excellent - no dead pixels. Color accuracy seems fine. The lag time between power on to display seems excessive at about seven seconds, where I'm used to less than five with another monitor. Speed: performs well (85%-ish valid) with EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti using testufo.com. The support stand does not seem to allow vertical adjustment, but otherwise seems sturdy. Shipping: Although the screen itself was well-secured by styrofoam, the cables and base support parts were left to rattle around in the shipping box, which could have easily resulted in a damaged product, were it not for the careful handling of the shipper. I got lucky.
