I wanted to measure body fat at home and found the two methods are A) caliper, B) tape measure, or C) combination. This product kept popping up every time I searched so I went ahead and bought it. It's simple and easy to use. Just slide the marker all the way to the open side, pinch your skin wherever you're measuring, and gently squeeze the caliper. You'll hear a "click" sound and feel it click too. The sliding marker will show you the measurement, in millimeters. The lines on the caliper are 2mm apart. So the line before the 10 indicator is 8mm, two lines after the 20 indicator is 24mm, etc. A couple of things to note: take your skinfold measurement(s) at least 2-3 times. Try to come up with an average of the measurement. I've found this caliper will mark fairly close every time I measure. Be consistent in WHERE you fold your skin. You'll get different readings if you pinch your skin in a slightly different spot each week.Read full review
