Signed by Francis Ford Coppola at his introduction: “Francis Ford Coppola, 1980.” Program book for the controversial Academy Award winning film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Larry Fishburne, Dennis Hopper, and Harrison Ford. Contains an introduction by director Francis Ford Coppola, a short log which chronicled the illness and accident troubled production, two pages of biographies of the actors involved, and production information. Based on the novel Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Faint hint of use, else fine in printed wrappers. From Coppola’s introduction: “The most important thing I wanted to do in the making of Apocalypse Now was to create a film experience that would give its audience a sense of the horror, the madness, the sensuousness, and the moral dilemma of the Vietnam war...It was my thought that if the American audience could look at the heart of what Vietnam was really like - what it looked like and felt like - then they would be only one small step away from putting it behind them.”
