This auction includes a vintage Lyon & Healy chaplain portable folding field pump organ in working condition. As the photos show, this antique pump organ is in good shape for it's age with some wear. All of the keys are in great shape with no chips or cracks on any of them and there are no leaks in the bellows. As the photo shows, the straps that attach the bellows to the foot pedals have been repaired and the one of the left needs to be repaired again. I was able to test the left pedal by manually pulling down on the piece of the strap that is still attached to the bellows and it works as it should. Both sides of the bellows are in working condition and I quickly played all of the keys to confirm that the reeds are still in good shape as well. Repairing the foot pedal strap should not be too difficult since there is still enough of the strap attached to both the pedal and the bellows, which will allow someone to easily sew a new piece of material between them. Or the both straps could be replaced completely. I would suggest using either denim (from an old pair of jeans), or leather, or possible some type of fabric belt to replace the straps with. In any case, it will not take much to get this pump organ back to perfect working condition again. This organ could also make a cool steampunk project as well. The handles, latches, and hinges are all still strong and in good shape and, other then some cosmetic wear, the case is in good shape overall. This is one unique sounding and cool pump organ.
