Absolutely loved it! While it's definitely a continuation of Phantom of the Opera, it's also somewhat different but in a good way. I also appreciate the fact that it had CC since I'm hearing impaired and sometimes have difficulty making out what is being said/sung. If you liked Phantom, you need to see this too.

I was unaware that Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote a sequel to his masterpiece, The Phantom of the Opera until a touring company of the musical play came to Atlanta. I was suspicious that because of the lack of fanfare for this play, it was a dud. It is ten years after the end of the Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom has fled France and has wound up in, of all places, Coney Island. His love Christine Daaé has come to New York for a performance in order to pay off her husband's gambling debt. As you would expect, the Phantom makes an attempt to woo her because her husband Raoul is not the Prince Charming we all would have hoped for. The show is entertaining, but it is a far inferior work when compared to the original Phantom. The musical score seems forced and is does not soar as Phantom does. Still, if you are a fan of the original, it is something worthy for you to see. Read full review

I am a HUGE Andrew Lloyd Webber fan. I personally think he's a musical genius. I first rented this movie from the library. You know what people always say about sequels...they're never as good as the original. This is also true in this case. However, this is the best, worst movie made inspired by the original musical. I knew that once I bought the movie and anniversary DVD, that I had to have this too. To completely the collection. I definitely suggest renting it from a library or something first before a purchase. It's not for everyone however, I am someone who enjoys bad sequels.

This story wraps up so many loose ends left by the Phantom of the Opera. The characters are engaging -- although I do wonder what made the Phantom decide to go so far away as Coney Island. The performances and sets are lovely as ever! If you enjoyed Phantom of the Opera, you'll enjoy this sequel.

Love this opera and it was in surpreme condition. I was very anxious to get this because I have the Phantom of the Opera. I played it right away and could not be happier. This story brought chills to my spine and tears to my eyes. Everyone should see it if you have seen Phantom of the Opera. Be prepared to cry and to feel all the emotion and the drama deep inside you. After seeing the Phantom stories I don't think I could ever enjoy another musical. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius creating this story and giving those of us who fell in love with the phantom a way to finally see the Phantom and Christine come together and proclaim their love
