He wanted to write his own stories, so he was given his own Spidey book simply entitled SPIDER-MAN. This launched him into super-stardom as it became the Best-Selling Comic Book of all time. Eventually he (along w/ a small group of Marvel's other top artists like Jim Lee) formed Image Comics, the most successful indie comics label in history. Todd thrived w/ his new creation SPAWN.
