ALEC GUINNESS, British actor, 1914-2000, handwritten signature with note "Approved for National Enquirer" dated 27 February 1989 on photocopy of stapled 3-page, 8-1/2" x 11" article titled "Sir Alec Guiness' [sic] Strange Premonition of James Dean's Death" with the byline of a leading Hollywood reporter from the 1950s to '80s with a few minor handwritten edits by Guinness, stapled to the 3-page article is an envelope postmarked 25 [sic] Feb 1989 with the California address of the Hollywood reporter handwritten by Guinness, article with Guinness's signature for approval comes with a carbon copy of the reporter's Feb. 6, 1989 letter to the actor asking for any changes in the article and approval of it and also four other stapled versions of the article, one with a couple of minor edits by the reporter and another with a copy of the page from an autobiography by Guinness in which he recounts the incident of the premonition of James Dean's death and an excerpt from a Guinness' interview with Jim Lehrer in which the British actor relates the incident another time, which recountings were the source for the reporter's article; CONDITION: Alex Guinness signature, note of approval, and handwritten edits all clear, 3 holes at left edges of pages for keeping in binder by previous owner, all pages of all five short articles completely legible, well-preserved material from being kept in binder by previous owner with limited handling, Alec Guinness signature and other writing comes with a lifetime guarantee of authenticity, seller is a member of the Ephemera Society, get in touch if you have any questions; keywords: Hollywood memorabilia, celebrity memorabilia, famous English actor, entertainment ephemera, actor signature. |
