Vamp; short for 'vampire', but also a woman who attracts then seduces men; 'etta' a feminine name ending.
Comes with an Alchemy Packet.
Vampretta: Vamp also means a part of the shoe above the sole. When this leather part was replaced, it was 'revamped'. It doesn't mean anything, but I thought it was interesting.
The word vampire come from the time of 1725-35 from the German Vampir which came from the earlier Serbo-Croatian vàmpīr, an area of the Transylvania persuasion.
Count Dracula is the most famous Vampire in ficton from the Bram Stoker book. Following the publication of In Search of Dracula by Radu Florescu and Raymond McNally in 1972, the supposed connections between the historical Transylvanian-born Vlad III Dracula of Wallachia and Bram Stoker's fictional Dracula attracted popular attention. During his main reign (1456-1462), "Vlad the Impaler" is said to have killed from 20,000 to 40,000 European civilians (political rivals, criminals, and anyone else he considered "useless to humanity"), mainly by using his favorite method of impaling them on a sharp pole. The main sources dealing with these events are records by Saxon settlers in neighboring Transylvania, who had frequent clashes with Vlad III. Vlad III is revered as a folk hero by Romanians for driving off the invading Turks. His impaled victims are said to have included as many as 100,000 Ottoman Muslims. [The last paragraph is based on information from wikipedia.org]
I highly recommend reading the Bram Stoker novel. It is written as a series of letters, diaries, and other accounts. Each account is by someone who is clueless to the big picture. But, ah, the reader: The reader reading all of these bits begins to form that big picture, and when that picture develops in the mind of the reader, it is excruciating to read the ongoing clueless accounts. Simply brilliant.
Comment: Two red crystal drops adorn the fangs, and a 9 1/2 inch double black ribbon on each side acts as a necklace. You tie the ribbon to the correct length for you. |
