I got this several years ago and have never used it.  On my rolling gantry is a manual hoist that works without air and since I don't lift items that often the air operated one stayed in a box.

The chain has NO HOOK on it.  When I purchased it the hoist had a special lifting fixture that was kept by the factory. They didn't use a regular hook on the end of the chain.  The buyer will have to add a hook and attachment device.

I cleaned it up with mineral spirits and used a large anvil (for sale in another auction) to test the air hoist.
It lifts the 300-400 pound anvil quickly and smoothly with 90 psi.  When I let go of the pull cord the motor will gently lower the anvil unless pressure is kept on the cord.  I don't know if there is an adjustment for this or not.  The pull cord has two positions that are, lift or lower.  The lowering side of the switch is much faster than the "neutral" position with this heavy anvil so the gradual lowering might be helpful.

If you want to lift one item and hold it in one position for a while this might not be what you need. If you need a hoist in a clean environment, this might not be what you need (because of the oiled air supply.  If you are lifting frequently, as in loading items on a pallet, trailer, or truck this might be the hoist to have.  Not electric, no shock hazard, easy to use, and fairly quiet.

I measured the chain length outside the motor housing at a little over 15 feet.  See photo of my oily hand.  No rust on the chain because of the oil on it.  The hoist is supposed to have a drip oiler in the air stream and in the factory where it was used, the maintenance personnel didn't fine tune the oilers.  Their moto:  "More is good." Because of this the chain, cloth bucket, and motor have oil all over.  I did wipe it down with mineral spirits to remove most of the outside oil.  The oily chain may be why it was taken off the assembly line.   On the assembly line it was used to lift round reels of material weighing 175 pounds onto a spool.

There are pipe reducers on the air inlet reducing the size down to 1/4" pipe thread.  On the 1/4" pipe thread I put a air coupler and plugged in my air hose for testing.

Retail price is close to $1000 new.

Questions?

General Information:

*   I try to describe each item to the best of my ability. If I miss something that you want to know please ask.

*   Questions are welcome. Please email using Ebay seller contact window or send to mandm.ebay@windstream.net.

*   Additional photos of an item can be emailed or added if requested.

*   All questions should be asked before bidding and soon enough before the end of the auction so that the question can be seen with enough time to answer.  I am not always at my computer to see the question.

*   I can combine shipments if you contact us before or at the time of payment. Combining items for shipment may raise the cost of the package but may be less expensive than shipping two packages.  Sometimes it is not practical to combine items.

*   Unless an item is advertised "as-is", we offer a DOA (dead on arrival/physically defective) warranty good for 7 business days from delivery.

Shipping:

*   I prefer to ship to the lower 48 states as I am not an expert in international shipping.  The rules are changing every day for international shipping.

*   I will not ship to Nigeria.

*   For shipping out of the U.S. it is usually easier and cheaper for all parties for the buyer to ship an item to a family member, friend, or company within the U.S. and have them forward it to you. This includes Canada. Some technology items are not allowed to be shipped overseas by U.S. regulations.

*   The buyer will be responsible for all taxes, duties, special packaging, fees, inspections, and shipping charges.

*   Finding out about the rules and regulations currently in place for your country take time. If you      know how you want it shipped and have shipped before let me know.

*   Local pick up is available by appointment only and only after payment has been made.

*   In the case of checks they must clear both my bank and your bank before the item(s) will be available for shipping or pick up.  This includes "Business Checks".  Clearing and notification may take two to three weeks. Cash at time of pick up works well.

*   Buyer pays all actual shipping costs.  I do not have packing fees or handling charges.

*   Most items will be shipped via United States Postal Service unless the buyer contacts us with specific instructions.  For heavier items UPS Ground is usually cheaper unless the item fits inside a USPS Flat Rate Box.

*   I attempt to ship within 48 hours (two business days) after receipt of payment.

*   No UPS or USPS is available on weekends or holidays.

Payment:

*   Payment must be received from the buyer within 7 days or the item will be relisted.
