Murphy & Nye Sailmakers of Chicago are now part of the world famous Sixty group based in Italy. Their heritage is in making nautical and fashion garments for the sailing industry to the highest level including Americas Cup. Seconds quality or clearance garment

From a consignment of garments from Murphy & Nye Sailmakers. This is classed as clearance stock or seconds quality.
When a garment is classed as seconds we inspect it find any fault that may be apparent. 80% of the time the fault is not detectable as it may simply be that the garment doesn't perfectly die match the manufacturers catalogue. Something that we don't have to be concerned about as each garment is sold on its own merit. Sometimes the garment may simply be incorrectly size labeled.
If however we do find a reason for the item to be downgraded we will make note below. We try our utmost to inspect garments closely but please be aware we may miss an occasion minor detail.
This item is sold on this understanding. The natural nature of this style of garment means there may be creases present on arrival this is the normal for this style.


Detected fault.
Has a small weave fault next to the logo by the rear pocket. You can just make it out on the photo as a slightly darker patch about 7mm x 10mm right by the top corner of the pocket and is like a ladder. Very minor fault indeed considering that you will be saving over £90 on the normal price.

Measurement.
Our method of checking the measurement is to lay the garment flat and measure the waistband left to right. We then double this measurement to give us the waistband total size. To compare please do the same with a garment that you have that fits you. This will avoid waistband size issues.

Sizing information on Murphy & Nye Trousers.

We measure every single pair of Murphy & Nye trousers so the size you see is checked. We do this by laying the garment flat with the waistband taught (not over stretched).
We then measure left to right at the waistband and double the size. For example if a mesaurement was 20 inch  (50.8cm) we double this to obtain a 40" (101.5cm) waistband. The garment may be slightly larger if it falls between this and the next size up but not less. Remember this is a waistband size.
To gain a comparison you would be advised to take a pair of trousers or jeans that fit you. Mesaure them in the same way and double the size. It is important that the garment you measure has the waistband at the same sort of rise height as the trousers for sale here. (this determins where the waistband sits on your body. Suit trousers are no good because they generally sit higher. Murphy & Nye trousers are casual so they sit lower on the hip. More like Jeans or Chinos.
Murphy & Nye trouser all have long leg sizes. This allows for turn ups or alteration.
If in doubt go for a size larger than normal as the sizes quoted here are accurate and specific to the actual to the garment. Many off the shelf brands are sized smaller than they actually are especially in the UK. For example, you might think you are a 36 because your off the shelf trousers that are size 36 fit ok. But when you put a measure across them they are more often than not be a size larger. It is best to take a moment to measure a pair that you know fits well and use that actual measurement as your comparison with our trousers..
