Eight Bar High Ball Glass Tumbers
6 vintage Federal Glass mystic nude risque pin-up girls bar glass tumblers When the glasses are filled with liquid the girls garmets disappear and when they are dry they reappear. see photos below to show the change when dry and then wet. all in great condtion with the exception of one, her outfit graphics is peeled off in a few spots. & one has a very tiny peel in the graphics.
“nudie glasses” were known as “mystics” because the white chemical used for the lady’s clothing would seem to disappear when touched by condensation; when a beverage was poured into a glass, the naked woman underneath would be revealed.These 6 have an "F" (federal glass co.) hallmark on the bottoms.
there are 2 additional vintage glasses that do not change when wet. the the girls on the outside have their clothes on and when looking inside the glass, they are nude.A beer is served in a glass with a pretty woman on the front. As you drink, something catches your eye—inside your glass you can see the bare-naked ladies of the same glamour girl presented fully dressed on the outside. Maybe you’re a little startled; maybe it makes you smile.
All are Gently used, NO CHIPS or Cracks,
The glasses are 4 3/4" tall with a 2 1/2" opening.
Very cool and unique vintage glasses. Great conversation piece, totally Mad Men era!
