This auction is for a # 6 Griswold black iron skillet with a matching cover with the Griswold "Button" logo. Both pieces are in very nice condition with no cracks, chips, rust, pitting, warping, or bowing. The skillet has a P/N 699B with a smooth bottom and the large block logo. The inside is in excellent condition with hardly a utensil mark. You can say the same for the bottom. All printing is very crisp and deeply incised. This pan was made just prior to the 2nd World War between 1939 - 1944. The lid is very distinctive with the logo in raised form on top as well as underneath. It fits the skillet snugly as it should. This is an especially nice set for display. Along with the other sizes with the same logo, it is quite impressive.
There is a low starting bid along with an undisclosed reserve that is less than book and market value. Please email us should you have any questions. Be sure to check out our other Griswold items we have listed including a # 4 Griswold skillet with large block logo and heat ring and also a Wagner Magnalite Roast and Bake Pan. Just click Check out my other items! Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. |
