This is NOT a Gel or Colored Glycolic Acid. This is PURE Glycolic Acid with no additives.

 

The 70% peel is very strong and is not recommended for complete use on the face. It is recommended that you use this percentage of strength for other parts of the body (i.e. stretch marks, keloid scars, brown spots, uneven skintone on the back/legs/arms, or callouses) or to spot treat ice pick or acne scars. WHAT IS GLYOCLIC ACID?   Glycolic acid is one of the naturally occurring fruit acids derived from sugar cane. The active ingredients of fruit acids when purified are called “Alpha Hydroxy Acids” (AHA). When used as prescribed, with a combination of superficial peels and home maintenance, the gradual removal of the top layer of skin will result in a fresher, rejuvenated skin tone.

HOW IT WORKS

Glycolic acid works on the epidermis, the upper layer of the skin. The normal shedding of the layer becomes regular. When applied to the skin, the acid lifts removes dead cells to reveal skin underneath that is smoother, fresher, and healthier looking. Eventually, this layer becomes more uniform after a peel resulting in a smoother feel, look, and texture of the skin. As it works into the deeper layers of the epidermis, the appearance of the skin is improved. Scars and stretch marks will appear lighter over time.

PRODUCT USE DIRECTIONS:

COMPLETE DIRECTIONS will be mailed with the product. BE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY. Keep out of reach of children. Failure to read and follow directions correctly could cause injury to the skin.

 

Before applying the Glycolic Acid Chemical Peel to your skin, make sure it is thoroughly cleansed, well rinsed, and completely driy. It is very important that you only apply this product to clean dry skin. All oils on the skin surface must be removed prior to use, or it could effect product effectiveness. DO NOT APPLY TO BROKEN SKIN, and DO NOT RUB INTO THE SKIN. Any soap or skin cleansing product must be well rinsed off. These agents contain a high pH level, which will decrease the effectiveness of the product.

 

You will leave the Glycolic Acid on your skin for approximately 2-3 minutes, depending on what week of treatment you are on (see directions included with product)

 

After leaving the peel on for the allotted 2-3 minutes, you MUST NEUTRALIZE THE PEEL. This will stop the action of the glycolic acid. To neutralize, just place about a pinch of BAKING SODA (just regular baking soda you may already have in your cupboard) into a cup of water, apply directly to the skin to neutralize, then rinse well with more water.

 

 

This product contains alpha hydroxy acid which may increase skin sensitivity to the sun and increase the likelihood of sun damage or sunburn. Be certain to use sunscreen protection while using this product and after you discontinue use.  

 

 

NEVER APPLY NEAR THE EYES OR AROUND THE DELICATE EYE TISSUE.

IF THIS PRODUCT GETS IN YOUR EYES, RINSE WELL WITH WARM WATER AND SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT IMMEDIATELY.

 

 

 

 

HOW OFTEN TO USE:

It is recommended that you use the Glycolic Acid Chemical Peel solution once weekly for 6 weeks, then rest your skin for 2 weeks (to allow skin cells to naturally rejuvenate). After the 2 week rest, you may start another 6 week cycle.  Continue this cycle until you achieve the results you seek in your skin. Certain scars or deep wrinkles may require several cycles of treatment.

 

HOW TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT PEEL STRENGTH:

Test a tiny, small portion of your skin to get an idea of how well your skin will tolerate this percentage of glycolic acid.  

 

You may experience slight stinging or tingling while the glycolic acid is on the skin. The skin may turn pink, but will return to its normal color within 1 to 2 days. When used correctly there shouldn't be any redness, burning, or blistering. If you experience these symptoms seek medical treatment and discontinue use. This will happen when the product is not used correctly, you are using too high of glycolic acid strength, or if your skin is too sensitive to handle a chemical peel. It is normal for the skin to “peel” and appear flaky 1 to 2 days after use. That means the product is working. This is the dead skin shedding, allowing a healthy layer to come to the surface. If heavy peeling or slight scabbing occurs, apply a petroleum based product, or antibiotic ointment (Neosporin) to help speed healing.

 

 

HOW TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT PEEL STRENGTH:

20% Extra Mild Peel for sensitive or fair skin and 1st time users. You will see slow results
30% Mild Peel for 1st time users and sensitive skin
40%  Medium Peel for someone that has had a peel before, doesn't have sensitive skin, use for minor skin flaws
50%  Medium - Strong Peel for people that have had peels before, and have scars and skin flaws
60% -70% Strong peel for experienced users for stretch marks, deeper scars, callouses, serious skin flaws - NOT for complete use on the entire face.
