Third time's a charm?? Due to non-payment, the opportunity is back. First high-bidder didn't want to pay, second high bidder never paid, so lets try selling it again. Send me an offer! For security and confirmation purposes, the camera must be opened in our presence, once paid for in order to verify to both parties involved that what is offered is being purchased. We will meet the buyer at a location convenient for both parties with officials. Boston is preferred, but we may be able to deliver to a local police station near you (or midway) for a fee, depending on your location. Please email in advance to check if your location is within delivery distance and what fee would be imposed for said delivery. Down Payment (or Payment in Full) must be made via PayPal prior to delivery. Welcome Back! Since the last time I auctioned this camera on eBay, I have learned absolutely nothing more about cameras but I have learned quite a bit about architecture. Why?, because cameras don't interest me, but finding a new slew of cameras behind a fake wall in my grandfathers home office does. So here I bring to you for the last time, the Original Polaroid 185 Land Camera. This is one of the ones from the 1960's, NOT the recent remake that was released in 2000. This camera was given to my grandfather by Dr. Land and has remained in the original unopened box. The pictures are mostly from the last one I came across which was opened, it had damage to the styrofoam, and there was no box. The camera that this auction is for, is in pictures 2, 3, & 4 which is an unopened box with the serial number 197(0/8?)1. The other pictures are from the previous 185 I sold and are only for reference as to what's inside the box. That camera recently resold by the person/persons who purchased it from me for a price of over $3500.00 USD. Their name will not be given for privacy reasons, but if any of you know who it was, I'm sure he will vouch for the authenticity of the camera that we sold him. Please also note our 100% feedback with eBay. Features of this camera include Mamiya Lens (1:5.6 f=114mm), conventional mechanical leaf shutter, manual exposure, also what appears to be a timer on the rear door of the camera, flip up view finder, full front covering hard plastic case for protection, and I'm sure much more that you camera buffs would never stop salivating over. These details were found on the Land List My father insisted that we keep it sealed in the box for this sale, as we can always open it, but can't un-open it. We will be happy to meet you at an agreed upon location in Boston after the sale, to open it in the presence of authorities to verify that it is indeed the Polaroid 185 inside. Unless the buyer would like to pay to fly me out to a city closer to them (preferably Oahu) to meet in the presence of the authorities.....that is their call. I appreciate your skepticism as I would be filled with the same. If this auction doesn't end up meeting our reserve price, we may open it for the next auction to avoid and put to rest any skeptics, but here is your once in a lifetime chance to say that you were the person to open what is quite possibly the last unopened original Polaroid 185 Land Camera in the world! Please ask any questions you may have and I'll do my best to get an answer for you. Ask all questions prior to bidding. Please see pictures. Thanks, and Good Luck bidding!! |
