This is a set of the Wool proofs created by Random House UK as they ready the hardback for publication in January of 2013. Only 1,500 of these sets were printed, and they are not legal to sell. They are distributed to bookstores, reviewers, media outlets, agents, and authors in order to drum up anticipation of the actual release.
After doing a giveaway on my site, my agent and I secured permission from Random House to do one auction with all proceeds going to charity. We have decided to support firstbook.org, which has given over 90 million books to young and impoverished readers that they may learn the thrill of owning their own book. This is an amazing set of books and an even better cause. I will be happy to sign each of the five books and the slipcase before sending it out to the winner. My thanks go out to Random House for allowing us to do this and for crafting such a unique proof set. I would also like to thank my agent, Kristin Nelson, for parting with the set. Finally, thanks go out to not only FirstBook, but all the excellent literacy charities out there. Best of luck to all bidders. On Jul-31-12 at 16:12:15 PDT, seller added the following information:I'm adding some items to sweeten the pot! The winner will also receive a proof copy of I, Zombie, which won't come out for another two weeks. Only five of these proofs will ever be printed. I'm also throwing in a signed Ben Adams print of Juliette. Only 50 of these prints were made. This is #3 of 50, signed by both Ben Adams and myself. The prints are gorgeous and suitable for framing. That's three collectibles. And remember: all proceeds are going to FirsBook.org. It's a great cause, and a stunning trio of rare merchandise. |
