You are bidding on a first edition copy of The Little Fir Tree by Margaret Wise Brown and Barbara Cooney (illus.). This book was found at an estate sale, and as far as I am able to determine, it is indeed an authentic, first edition copy. It is also rare in that it is NOT an ex-library copy of the book.
I am not a book dealer/reseller, so I cannot rate it by any standards but I will try my best to describe it. The book itself is in very good shape--no tears, the pages are crisp, clean and white, and the binding is very tight. a few of the pages have some small creasing from reading (last picture listed shows this best), but besides that, it looks almost unread. The dust jacket is in less than perfect shape--it has a two-inch tear on the front (pictured) and two small tears on the binding (by the first "e" in tree and then at the bottom by Crowell). It also has some age marks. All in all, this is a beautiful copy of a classic book that is nearly 60 years old. Winner pays $4 s&h, including delivery confirmation and insurance.
