Hooded Coastal Command Irvin RAF Flying Jacket Large Repro Sz 44

Just in time for winter, a new size 44 repro Coastal Command Irvin jacket made by Aero Leather.  Coastal Command Irvins differ fron the regular type with the addition of a hood, nearly invisible when rolled under the collar, that provides extra warmth to the wearer and additional visibility (yellow exterior) when unrolled.  The yellow hood originally helped rescue aircraft to find downed pilots in the North Sea, but you can use it to keep your ears warm while your friends shiver in the cold.  You can have it immediately--Aero has a wait of several months--and for 20% less than Aero charges.

This is the costly four panel Irvin--two large sheepskin panels for the front, and two for the back.  The RAF stopped making these early in WWII because of the expense of using such large pieces of sheepskin, opting insteat for eight smaller panels.

You wouldn't be getting a shot at this had I not recently found an original prewar four panel Irvin that I can't afford without sacrificing this one

The jacket is slightly snug for a size 44, as it is not yet broken in.  A size 42 buyer will be comfortable in it now, and a size 44 buyer will get the pleasure of breaking in the jacket for himself.

Measurements (from the outside): armpit to armpit (front and back): 24.5" (front and back), sleeves from shoulder seam to end of cuff: 25.5", across the shoulders: 19", from the base of the collar to the hem at the back: 24", down the front (from start of zip to bottom the hem: 22" and the waist (measured at the hem): 21.5".
