Item for sale is a Bacon Style B guitar banjo; serial number 12621; circa 1920s. This six-string variation of the banjo was designed with the guitar player in mind. It is constructed of maple. The heavy rim has nickel plated metal parts including a notched tension hoop and a steel wire "tone ring" under the head. It is in very good ,original condition with the exception of the tuning keys which where replaced by a luthier in Nashville, Tn. with as close to original as possible. Please note the tuning keys in the photos are the original keys that did not work, they are not what is on the instrument. It is in a hard shell case from the same era, case not in great condition but structurally sound. |
