Up for your consideration is a rare, vintage, first edition (USA) of The Mystery At Lilac Inn, from the vintage/early Nancy Drew Mystery Stories series, and printed 1930.  I am not a book seller or antique/vintage book collector.  This book came from the estate of a 100 year old family friend who had a small collection of vintage books.  Because I am not a vintage book collector, I have done my best to photographically represent this book so that you may judge the condition and quality for yourself.  As you can see from the photos, the dust jacket is in fairly good shape for an 80 year old book, but it is missing a small piece from the spine (bottom).  Also, as you can see with dust jacket removed, the inner blueboards have suffered from some mildew at some point, showing as white splotches.  I do not know this discoloration can be remedied or not.  I have not attempted to do anything to improve or repair this specimen in any way, preferring to offer it to a collector in original condition.  Because the dust cover is in such good shape, I actually didn't take a look at the inner boards until taking the pictures for this listing.  All pages of this book are present.  Structurally, this specimen is square and tight with no loosening of the spine or binding.  So, whatever has caused the spotting on the boards has not affected the structure or caused loss of pages or page deterioration.  Pages are in good shape and show only signs of normal "tanning" due to age.

If you look around the Internet, you'll find this book selling for handsome prices at the prestige rare book sellers.  I'm am offering this specimen at a low start with no reserve.  Please look over the pictures carefully and ask any question before bidding; I'll be more than happy to answer whatever I can and also to take and forward more pictures if needed.  I want any true collectors of vintage books to be fully satisfied with this item and because I am not a professional bookseller, want to ensure as much clarity of understanding as possible.  I consider payment (Paypal) within 48 hours of auction end to be reasonable and I will expect this from buyer.  I will ship via USPS (Parcel ground only) within 48 hours of verified payment...That said, I usually get items sent within 24 hours.  I have this book for sale locally and so reserve the right to end auction early if I find a buyer in VA.  I will not ship to international locations, I will ship to contiguous US destinations only, so other international location buyers please do not bid.  Thank you for looking and I hope you find this item both interesting and a good value considering its vintage, rarity and condition.  Thanks!
