24" Antique Doll c1890 KESTNER #171 Perfect Bisque & Original Stamped Body EX++

Description

Big blue sleep eyes and gorgeous coloring enhance this adorable 24" Kestner #171, circa 1890 in very excellent condition with perfect bisque head incised “made in  // Germany // J 13 // 171.”

Finest painted lashes are under her mesmerizing eyes, which have remnants of ‘brush’ lashes; molded feathered brows, plump rosy cheeks, a dimpled chin and sweet open mouth with upper teeth, plus light-brunette human hair wig in bouncy curls, gives her a bright & fascinated expression.

The original compo & wood body, stamped GERMANY in rectangle with 4 ½. Veryclean body with original finish and no damages and no repaints, and she’s jointed at neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips & knees.

Dressed for the shore and a boat ride, Kestner 171 wears a fine vintage Mariner outfit of jumper over pleated skirt with attached slip-bodice, golden-yellow braid trim and a red tartan tie. Underneath is a petticoat & pantalets of antique fabrics, plus striped knit socks and cute leather shoes; she comes from a non-smoking environment. (W)
