Please check out my 100% Positive feedback and bid with complete confidence.  (And please check out the other beautiful pots that I have on eBay.)

You are bidding on two exceptional vintage cups by highly lauded mid-Century potter Eugene Deutch.

DESCRIPTION: These two beautifully formed mid-Century cups nicely complement one another and attest to Eugene Deutch’s great gifts as a maker of pots.  They have a watery dark yellow glaze that allows their red clay bodies (as well as a series of fine concentric throwing lines) to show through and become part of their color and textural palates.  The interiors of both cups have a nicely contrasting dark blue glaze with yellow streaks at the rims.

These winning pots measure 3 ¾” h x 2 7/8” d (with one ever so slightly larger than the other) and are in vintage mint condition-  no chips, cracks or repairs.  Each is signed and dated (1951) on the bottom.

This is a no reserve auction.

ABOUT EUGENE DEUTCH:  Eugene Deutch was a Hungarian émigré who brought to American ceramics an early understanding of European modernism.  (He signed his pots both Deutsch and Deutch, due to anti-Semitism.)  He had been a student of Constantin Brancusi while studying in France and himself taught for many years at the Art Institute of Chicago.  Deutch first exhibited at the Syracuse Nationals in 1937 and went on to become an important American artist of, arguably, less than deserved acclaim in his lifetime.  However, with time has come ever increasing respect and ardor for his work on the part of serious collectors of mid-Century studio clay

SHIPPING:  Winning bidder pays for insured USPS Priority shipping.  (International shipping charge is $45.)  Winning New York bidder pays applicable state sales tax.  Winning international bidders are responsible for any import taxes imposed by their particular country.  Payment via PAYPAL is due within five days of the end of the auction.  THANKS for looking and GOOD LUCK.
