Ladies and Gentlemen, the item up for bid is a collection of blotters advertising for Neely Enterprises, Electronic Manufacturer's Representatives that eventually became Neely Sales Division of Hewlett-Packard.
At one time or another they had offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, North Hollywood, Palo Alto, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Las Cruces.
I love Neely Enterprises because the used Elvgren images on their advertising blotters for an uninterupted period of 22 years. TWENTY-TWO years! That is 264 months, 264 individual and different Elvgren Pinups.
The reason I am calling this a collection is that I have 228 of the 264 available Neely Enterprises Elvgren blotters. That is a wopping 86.36% of the blotters I know of.
In one of the pictures you will see an Excel spreadsheet showing the months that are included in this collection. According to the Brown & Bigalow numbers on the blotters they ran on a fiscal year of June to May. I have seen a January 1948 which implies they go back to at least June of 1947. They ended with the May of 1969 blotter. The blotters went through a total of 6 styles as represented by the different shadings on the spreadsheet.
As I have accumulated Neely Enterprises blotters over the years the best always went into this collection. There are a few (a very few) especially in the early 50's that have some ink on the back and such but, in general, I would say 95% or more are in primo condition.
The collection will come to you in the binder and the pages as you see in the photos.
You may notice a silver banner across the top of the 1958 blotters indicating their 25 Anniversary year. As an added bonus I am including a 25th Anniversary medallion. It is about 38mm across and has a loop on the top to hang it on a key ring.
I have had a wonderful time doting over this collection but it's time for me to part with them. I'm hoping someone will take up the challenge of filling in the gaps.
At the opening bid level you will get the 228 blotters at less than $9.00 per blotter, you will get the binder with 42 pages each capable of holding 6 blotters, plus the 25th Anniversary medallion.
