This is an auction for an Apple Set Top Box. This was made in the mid-90s when Apple was experimenting with content providers to provide interactive television. It features chips from Motorola, Texas Instruments and VLSI Technology. The back features connections for composite video & stereo audio, S-video, serial, Ethernet, RF coaxial and SCSI.
Developed in partnership with British Telecom, the Apple Set Top Box was part of a subscription-based data service that allowed interactive/on-demand television. Sold As Is, and untested. There is no service to support it even if it does power up. A RARE collectable piece of Apple's history.
