Here's a 2010 PRS Private in a beautifully quilted double stained Private Stock Purple. The bass has some playwear- there's a few, light indents on the top and a small chip on the pickguard and the binding- see pic's. The back has a few indents and a few dings. The hardwear is in excellent condition. It is 100% all original and has no cracks, repairs or breaks.
Here's the factory spec's on this bass:
Gary Grainger’s remarkable credits include four years in John Scofield’s band playing with Dennis Chambers. He has played with Frank Gambali, George Duke, and done innumerable studio dates with musicians like Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire. Gary Grainger is also a PRS tradeshow clinician and plays bass in the Paul Reed Smith band. Gary began work with Paul Reed Smith on the Gary Grainger model Private Stock bass in 2003. PRS is offering these 5-string instruments through the Private Stock department. The instrument has an unusual pickup arrangement, using four single coils combined into two "separated" hum-canceling pickups. This provides the instrument with both a depth and clarity while simultaneously providing the instrument with a mid-range voice. Also, incorporated in the design, is an optional manual compressor called a "ramp", a beautiful 5-String Low-Profile neck with a 10" fretboard radius, a specialized pre-amp, super thin Private Stock satin nitro finish and a newly design integrated neck joint in which the body and the neck are carved into one piece. This 5-string design includes a Private Stock carved, curly maple top with a mahogany back, rock maple neck and a rosewood fretboard.
Knobs 1-2 are volume controls and passive/active switch:
Knob 1: Neck pickup volume.
Down = Active, Up = Passive If this knob is up and Knob 2 is down only the neck pickup (passive) is heard
Knob 2: Bridge pickup volume.
Down = Active, Up = Passive
If this knob is up and Knob 1 is down only the bridge pickup (passive) is heard.
If both knob 1 and knob 2 are in the up position, both pickups (passive) are heard.
Knobs 3-5 are a 3-band EQ control:
Knob 3: Bass EQ. Only functions with pickups in active mode.
Knob 4: Mid EQ. Only functions with pickups in active mode.
Knob 5: Treble EQ. Only functions with pickups in active mode.
The bass will function passively without batteries. There is an indicator on each battery compartment to show 9V installation orientation.
It has just been deep cleaned and detailed. The front, back, sides and neck were waxed and buffed with a high grade carnuba wax. The frets were polished and the fingerboard was cleaned and buffed. It was set up with a fresh set of strings, calibrated and it plays very nicely. All the electronics work just as they should.
Comes with the original PRS hardshell case.
