From my personal collection:
One of only ten known to exist; this is an exceptionally rare, German 100-blade multi-blade exhibition knife by Zuckschwerdt, from circa 1900.
A very similar knife (100-blade by Zuckschwerdt), was recently featured on Auction Hunters on Spike TV, air date 04-18-2012 "Ventura auction", and valued at $15K - I believe mine to be in even better condition!
This incredibly complex museum grade knife represents the zenith of skill and craftsmanship from that era and is in remarkable, mint condition!
Current “Lang” (modern) versions of this knife are almost identical, but feature split mother of pearl scales instead, and are constructed of stainless steel. The modern versions retail for $ 12,000....This is an original from the turn of the Century!!! The blades on this particular knife are high carbon steel.
This Zuckschwerdt museum grade masterpiece features 200+ year single piece old mother of pearl scales on each side, which measure 116 mm in length and 21 mm in width, impossible to find in size in todays market.
The MOP scales are mint and fully intact, without cracks or chips anywhere!
Overall length is 120mm closed (4.75”) , height is 37mm(1.5”), width 48mm (1-7/8”)The largest blade measures 90mm (3.5”). Weight is approx 1lbs!
The total count of actual blades is 96 plus 4 insertions, which are all present and intact. The blades are all there, nothing missing, nothing broken, NEVER SHARPENED…truly remarkable for a 110 year old knife of this nature!!!
The knife is signed twice “Z”, with a vertical sword through the letter, on the base of the large blade and on the hoof pick.
This is a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the rarest and most complicated vintage multi-blade knives ever made. A true investment in absolutely 100 % original museum-grade condition, sure to go up in value and to be appreciated by generations to come.
