Hidden Treasures is happy to offer you for your consideration this nice pair of Native American Adena culture flint scrapers!
These artifacts are reworked chert blades repurposed as small knives or scrapers. They are believed to be Adena tools dating to the Woodland Period (ca. 3000-2500 BP). One is a light pinkish-gray chert and the other is a charcoal-black chert and were both found in SE Illinois. The pinkish knife measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/4" and has a nice thumb groove on one side; it weighs 0.2 ounces. The other is a great multipurpose tool, measuring 1 5/8" x 1" (at widest point) and weighs 0.2 ounces. These are two fantastic examples of Adena tools, perfect additions to any collection!
