The drive adopts perpendicular magnetic recording that helps the disk to store more data in the same available space by recording in the vertical axis. The S.M.A.R.T technology in this 1 TB Samsung SpinPoint M8 lets you monitor, analyze and report device attributes and avoid unexpected downtime and data loss. The SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies in the Samsung internal HDD ensure seamless and smooth operation with silent acoustics. The 1 TB Samsung SpinPoint M8 greatly minimizes the effects of external shock damage by safeguarding head/disk contacts using the load/unload head technology.
