1 KW LDMOS-FET HF,VHF LINEAR AMPLIFIER
A newly built 1kw output RF power amplifier using latest FREESCALE LDMOS device
The MRF6VP11KH transistor employs Freescale's sixth-generation, very high-voltage (VHV6) 50V LDMOS technology and joins a family of VHV6 LDMOS devices the company introduced in 2006 for applications to 450 MHz. It operates in push-pull configuration from 10 to 150 MHz and is designed to provide higher performance than bipolar and other MOSFET devices typically employed in these applications. For signals with pulse width of 100 µs and 20-percent duty cycle, the MRF6VP11KH delivers more than 1 kW at the 1-dB gain compression point with 65-percent efficiency and 27-dB power gain. It achieves 1.3 kW output power at 3-dB compression with 70-percent efficiency.
The MRF6VP11KH is designed to withstand extremely high impedance mismatch levels. It is rated for VSWRs as high as 10.0:1 at 50 V and 1 kW output power. It also incorporates electrostatic-discharge (ESD) protection against damage while handling on the manufacturing floor. This ESD protection still provides ample gate voltage swing capability of –6 V and +10 V, a very desirable attribute for higher classes of operation.
Built on a newly designed PCB epoxy G-10 with silver plating .
A special transmission line broad band transformer with special Teflon high power ferrite loaded coax transformer and ATC caps in all RF paths and a dedicated balun at the output also made of special Teflon coax enables easy wide band operation

Current up to 40A on peaks!
Bias :an external 12V needed to key amp.
The amp is built on a heavy duty HEAT SINK with a 10x10x1.2cm of copper slab as a heat spreader
The transistor is clamped to the heat spreader with a copper bar that presses evenly the device against the copper heat spreader all polished very fine to ensure flatness of mating surfaces
for maximum heat transfer!
Bias is applied through a feed through capacitor with a led indicator for positive action.

This is a Module and not a complete amp.
Filters should be used at the output to clean the signal and to comply with regulations .The Ameritron filter works well here .
