19th Century Country Wash Stand & 1 Drawer Table in Matching Old Paint


A 19th century country wash stand and one drawer stand in matching grungy old jade green paint over original paint. These two pieces would have been typical furniture in the bed and bath of the early to mid 1800’s.

The wash stand measures 21-1/4” wide, 16” deep and stands 42-3/4” tall to the top of the scalloped splash. It has a candle shelf above a 9-1/2” diameter cut out for wash bowl. The drawer below measures 17” x 12-1/2” x 2-1/4”.

The one drawer stand with splash measures 31-3/4” wide, 15 deep and stands 29” tall to the table top surface. The splash adds an additional 4-3/4”. The drawer measures 26-1/4” x 10” x 2-1/4”.

The paint on both pieces is quite old and has that dry crazing and grungy look. It covers an older mustard paint over a black base on both pieces and it appears that the two pieces most likely have been together since the mid 1800’s. Both pieces are all original and complete with no repairs. They show only typical wear and will provide many more years of service.
