This is a 1997 Essence 5 string. Ser # is 97K##### I will tell you all I know about this bass, but must disclose that I am not an expert on this particular model so some of the more technical questions may be beyond my knowledge. This bass is in fantastic condition. Especially for a 1997 model. There are just a few very very minor "dents" in the body (near the controls and on the back near the access cover) and two very small dents on the back of the neck. The pot access cover is scratched. There is a small nick on the side near the top right curve, and another very small nick on the lower horn. As far as I know, those are the only defects and they are very minor. I've uploaded as many pics as allowed, but can send more as requested. I believe the body is made of Flamed maple and vermillion. I have the case for it. Inside is in great shape with plenty of room for accessories, but the outside is a little worn has a couple tears. Hey.. better the case than the bass!!!
