Well, ebay removed my other listing because it had "other brand names that wer enot pertaining to my bid" and they removed it. So not to worry folks!!! It's BACK!!!
I got this from a buddy who was getting a divorce a few years ago. I rode it and I put it away last year. Basically, I cannibalized the tires, and chain and the brakes to go on my other build. This is such a pristine piece, that I was originally going to just collect it, and toss some Shimano Tourney's on it.... But my wife says I have to downsize. And I am goin on a trip, so I wanted some spare pocket cash. My loss, your gain. I really don't want to sell her. I am an advid GT collector, and I own many bikes. This one, is rare to have as a survivor. As soon as it was up for grabs, I had to have it.... And I am sorry I am letting it go. I own tooooo many bikes right now,a nd this one deserves a home wherethe owner willappreciate her more than me. Other than being in a climate controlled environment all of it's life that me and my buddy owned it. He bought the bike 10 years ago from the shop tag on the chainstay. Little white tag. It may not be pictured. It's on the other side of the frame from the serial number pic.
So, this bike is all original. Redline - schwinn V Bars. SR Sakae stem SR ( i do believe or suntour ) seat clamp, post is original to the bike. I had to put a crappy mountain bike seat on it to be comfortable. The old viscount aero was shot, and I hate those seats anyways. The wheels are original Femco 's with enanmle painted rims and shiny sides. No scuffs to the wheels, and has slght and I mean SLIGHT wobble to the rear. Last I remember, when I rode this, it was riding like a dream, and it was last year about tis time.
There is no damage to the chrome from the original bike shop from what I can tell. Just a slight swirl from a scotch pad right behind the chainwheel as pictured, and the slight, and I mean SMALL ding in the fork, as pictured. The stickers have blemishes, as to be expected from a bike from 1983. There are no dents, rewelds, or any cracks in the items. I did not ever want to remove the stickers, so if there is something behind these, I would never know.
I collect bikes. Many of them. I own 10 GT's. I am just not a huge Schwinn guy. But I loved the 83 Predator. I owned a bike just like this when I was 10. And had the Shimano Tourney's on it. So I am so sorry to see this one go. I am really going to miss her.
I just seen one just like this go for $399 on bmxmuseum.com. That's WAY OUT! I am not trying to get ome outer-space or astronomical price for this item. I want someone to be able to afford the parts it needs to get back on the road! The V-Bars are probaly worth $100 themselves!
