1976 RICK REEVES 19” FRAME SPINNING WHEEL IN BEAUTIFUL WALNUT
We are liquidating the spinning, weaving & knitting supplies for a lovely woman who now has Alzheimer’s and is no longer able to participate in her beloved pastimes. All funds will go to off-set the cost of her care.
This gorgeous wheel has a double drive, single treadle. Other than the creaking leather in the treadle, it is almost perfectly silent. In place of dowel joinery, this has knobs which can be unscrewed and the wheel can be taken apart. A heavy-but-portable wheel – the entire mother-of-all lifts off and can be transported in your spinning bag.
Comes with 7 bobbins, an extra flyer, an extra threader, extra whorls, and a tensioned “bug” lazy kate!
Has a few minor marks/scratches from use and one knob has a sheared-off area…nothing too major as far as flaws (see photos). As a collectible ‘bonus’, we include a shipping box from the 1980’s that accessories arrived in with an original vintage Rick Reeves shipping label…kind of cool! Underside of treadle engraved: “RICK REEVES - WEST AMANA, IA – 1976 - RRS #695”. Has the traditional R.R. brass plaque on wooden cross piece. Opposite the plaque is an engraved personalization for the original owner SARAH SHAW.
I received this message from Mr. Reeves in response to an inquiry I recently posted on the RAVELRY website:
“…But this is one of our very first Frame Wheels. I
noticed the Bug
I had to revise UPS shipping cost - eBay incorrectly over-estimated!
